Mindfulness from the aproach of occupational therapy aplied to the elderly
Main Article Content
Abstract
We analyze theresults of an occupational therapy program based on the Mindfulness technique on a selected elderly sample by means of a probabilistic method of convenience with pre-test and post-test measures, with an experimental group (n = 10) and control (n = 10). The objective is to determine if a therapy based on full attention can produce cognitive, social and emotional improvements in thedifferent subjects. Both the experimental group and the control completed the PANAS, FFMQ, and IRI scales. This is one of the few studies that examines the effects of a Mindfulness intervention in the elderly from an occupational therapy approach. Given the importance of the results, it is suggested to work with more significant samples.
