Analysis of the CIIDET quality management system to adapt it in accordance with a quality unit of the ECALFOR project
Main Article Content
Abstract
Quality in higher education allows evaluating and having control of the processes involved in education, achieving the implementation of good practices and facilitating continuous improvement in institutions. The Interdisciplinary Center for Research and Teaching in Technical Education (CIIDET) maintains an implemented and documented Quality Management System (QMS), in accordance with the international standard ISO 9001:2015 and its national equivalent in Mexico NMX-CC-9001-IMNC- 2015. The scope of the SGC is the educational process, which includes from the beginning of the semester school period to the end of it, for the postgraduate programs offered by CIIDET. The general objective is to contribute to improving the teaching, research and leadership capacities of the institutions and people that make up the constituents. CIIDET participates in the project Evaluation of teacher training in Latin America and the Caribbean. Guarantee of the quality of education qualifications (Ecalfor). In package three of the project, work is being done on the creation of Quality Units in the Universities of Latin America and the Caribbean, following the European protocols for the creation of quality units in HEIs, determined by the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education, ENQA. In this document, a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis is carried out where, from the internal analysis, the strengths and weaknesses are identified to adapt the SGC, that CIIDET currently has implemented, to the Ecalfor project proposal for quality units in HEIs. Finally, an action plan is proposed to carry out the necessary adjustments that allow integrating the protocols established in the Ecalfor project in the CIIDET QMS, highlighting the advantages of having an implemented QMS.
