Quality in higher education. Comparison between faculty and students
Main Article Content
Abstract
The purpose of this research work is to verify the analysis of the impact of service quality evaluation systems in higher education on real improvements in educational quality. Therefore, this work has the objectives of analyzing the relationship between quality evaluation through indicators such as satisfaction including teachers and students of higher education, deepening the identification of structural, organizational, communicative and pedagogical characteristics of higher education. The sample consisted of 498 higher education students and 119 teachers in southern Naples, Italy. An independent means test (Student’s t-test) was performed, interrelating indicators of educational quality (structural, organizational, communicative and pedagogical characteristics) and satisfaction in higher education. The results show that there are significant differences between the group of students and the group of professors, highlighting a higher level of satisfaction with quality on the part of the group of students in relation to the pedagogical characteristics and on the part of the professors in relation to the organizational characteristics. As a proposal for improvement and based on the limitation of being a sample at the regional level, the results provide innovations to improve the quality of higher education, even considering expanding the study population as a possible improvement.
