Abstract
Among Work: Psychology researchers, interest in studying attitudes towards work such as job satisfaction has increased, perhaps because it is an effective predictor of absenteeism, dropout and job performance, and also because it represents a basic objective of organizational development (Tocaruncho, 2000). Objectives: To determine and evaluate the influences of personal, social and organizational variables on job satisfaction, and the modulation established by socio-occupational variables in health workers. Sample: A sample of health professionals belonging to the Spanish population, selected by intentional sampling, waschosen from among the workers ofeach of the centers visited to carry out the study. Method: Through mediation with service heads or unit heads, potential participants were contacted to request their voluntary participation in a university study. A job satisfaction questionnaire and a sociodemographic data protocol were applied. And data tabulations were performed. Results: Descriptive and inferential results were obtained. The mean age of the participants was 37 years old and the minimum age was 22 years and the maximum was 58 years. The mean length of service in the organization was 12 years. And the most numerous contracts with 59% were the fixed ones. Conclusion: Younger workers were more satisfied with supervision and participation. There is a negative relationship between educational level and satisfaction. Also, with the type of contract, the permanent ones being the least satisfied. There are significant differences in terms of the type of service where they work.
