Abstract

Background and objectives. Few studies have analyzed the contribution of executive functioning (FE) to quality of life (CAV) in subjects with ADHD. Objectives of the work: (1) To explore the differences between adults with and without ADHD in quality of life (2) To compare the quality of life among adults ADHD with and without difficulties in executive functioning (3) To analyze the influence of problems in executive functions the quality of life of adults with ADHD. Methodology. 36 young people with ADHD and 27 without the disorder completed questionnaires about quality of life and executive functioning. Results. Statistically significant differences were found among ADHD youth with and without deterioration in executive functioning in areas of quality of life. In particular, problems in metacognition were associated with a lower perception of quality of life. Conclusions The identification of the factors that influence the quality of life can help the application of more effective treatment programs.
