Oral improvisation in verse as a resource for creativity and memory
Main Article Content
Abstract
Oral improvisation in verse is one of the most interesting manifestations of intangible heritage of peoples. At the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, in the Peritia et Doctrina program, I have had the opportunity to work with the poetic strophes in which this tradition is manifested in the Canary Islands. I searched thereby stimulate creativity and memory of older people who find, perhaps for the first time, with the creative nature of poetry using, by example, a strophe of the sixteenth century, that, however, it has a bright future in front.
