Main Article Content
Abstract
This work delves into the role of parental figures and their influence on developing an addiction. A quantitative empirical investigation is carried out to study this relationship. For data collection, an ad hoc questionnaire of own elaboration was used, made up of 14 items, applied to a sample of users (n = 17) who are under a long-term residential treatment process for disorders derived from substances consumption. The data extracted show that the majority of the subjects in the sample point to the family as the object of behaviours and events similar to authoritarian discipline, as well as poor attention from it. In conclusion, the family is a highly relevant socialization factor, and hence its importance in the people development.
