Abstract

Osteoarthritis, is a degenerative disease, a really common problem which cause high economic cost and a large number of disabilities. The most frequently affected joint is the knee and it is characterized by increasing destruction of articular cartilage,
loss of extracellular matrix, and progressive inflammation. A new treatment with Mesenchymal stromal cell (MSC) opens a hope for patients with knee osteoarthritis. Nevertheless, the real function of this therapy has not been well known.
This review sum up the mechanisms of action, and other contributory factors like exosomes. However, the deep mechanism of action need today more studies for a complete understanding.
