Abstract

Access to Art, Education and participation in cultural and occupational activities, in the elderly with Alzheimer’s and other dementias are limited. This article shows the experience carried out by the ARS project, in the association “Afal Contigo” in Madrid, trying to connect and communicate to the participants with the cultural programs of the city, aiming to provide users the possibility of knowing the current artistic scene; providing access to arts education besides opening a door to the outside world. To sum up, it’s a worthwhile effort that tries to improve their emotional status and quality of life, making them useful people able to participate in any activities and challenges of their lives.
