Abstract
Throughout 34 years of work in the psychology practice, coming from a psychoanalytic formation and comprehending the necessity to implement mechanisms of therapeutic intervention to respond to an increasingly complex demand for psychological and psychosocial profiles, There is a step in the therapeutic practice, gradually to an integration of the model of attention of positive psychology. In order to consolidate the training of undergraduate students in psychology, the psychological attention service is offered in the private practice, conceived as fundamental for its academic and professional development. In that context the request for the atention of Anita, 23 years old, undergraduate student in psychology is received. With imbalance important in different planes of his life. A qualitative research is presented, designed, case study, descriptive, with evolution of 7 months of positive therapeutic intervention. The results of this psychological therapy are presented in reference to the 6 criteria that support the characterization of a positive health state proposed by Maria Jahoda in 1958. The work has been structured based on the patient’s testimony and the progress observed in the consultation. A series of advances are evident in all levels of the patient’s positive mental health, self-esteem, decisionmaking, motivation, sense of life and belonging, interpersonal relationships, resistance to stress, independence, self-regulation, etc. Categorized in the criteria established by Maria Jahoda to identify positive mental health.
