Children’s physical activity in pandemics time: a bridge for more meaningful interventions
Main Article Content
Abstract
In this communication, we propose to reflect educational changes to promote in order to com-bat multiple pandemics, with an impact on the quantity and quality of movement by today’s children. If in recent years, in the face of the unexpected pandemic situation of COVID-19, there have been adaptations to practices supporting a more individual-oriented education, with this period comfort rates have grown that have been reflected in the increase in screen time, social isolation and obesity.
Atschool orat home, education professionalsand family members now haveto rethinkintentionaland meaningful practices, adjusted to the needs of new achievements of development and learning - physical and motor skills, specific skills, but also socio-emotional. It is urgent to change attitudes and improve quality of life and child well-being, preparing society for a growing awareness of the relevance of Physical Activity, in the fight against addiction behaviors and sedentary time. In this analysis, we intend to address the practices and reflections of educators who, in the last 10 years, in the context of pedagogical internship of the same higher education institution, have dedicated part of their educational intervention appealing to the practice of significant movement activities for children, most of them, in interdisciplinarity. We corroborate here, a perspective of initial formation of the educator oriented to the understanding of the importance of physical practice – playful or sporting, in an education of the child that is balanced, multidimensional, active, inclusive and interactive; And this, without ever forgetting the rights of children. This will be a real contribution to a more active education in early childhood and oriented towards better health and well-being.
