Main Article Content
Abstract
The present work aims to present a perspective of care and attention to the mental health of young people in the phase of professional choices and preparation for the selections of access to the University in Brazil through an experiential work from Relational Psychomotricity of Andre Lapierre, which has been highlighted as an essential method for understanding the human being in its entirety and widely used as a work of development of socioemotional skills and competencies, imprinting personal quality in the actions and attitudes in educational organizations. The development of the work occurred interactively with the management and the pedagogical project of the school and fits into an action-research. There were 5 sessions/year in the year 2019 with an interval of 2 months from one moment to the other. The 30 participants were aged 16 to 18 years old and attending the 3rd grade of high school in a public school in the city of Fortaleza, being part of the two third-year classes of the institution. At the end of the work, in the participating pre-university (final grade of basic education) classes, 85% of the students stated that the practice had benefited their mental health for the challenges of the phase of personal and school life, which included selections for Universities and the beginning of a new phase of development. It was observed that the Relational Psychomotricity is a method which, from its nuances of intervention, contributed to the promotion of the quality of relationships in the educational environment, as well as valued during the work, the mental health in a prophylactic way, improving the skills of students in pre-university phase for the current challenges, strengthening still, through playfulness and active listening, the strategies of self-confidence for the studies.
